In the tumultuous world we live in, art is an escape from the less than savory realities of life. It remains the greatest source of catharsis for the creative mind. A transmutation of malaise and malady into a masterpiece; trauma into release; repugnance into beauty. But this is far from limited to personal catharsis. For millennia, artists have leveraged their creativity for catharsis to shine light on far more than their private lives.

There is a fight for equality across race, caste, creed, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The tragedy of war. The struggle for identity. All of these have been remedied by and expressed through art. The stark reality for many is that while their talent may be second to none, it’s long been confined to a hobby or passion and not perceived as a lifeline for sustenance. The stereotype of the “starving artist” pervades in spite of the hope and joy art adds to our darkened world and those of us who see ourselves in it.

We wanted to challenge this. Make a change for the dextrous creatives out there who have the talent but lack the opportunity to share their craft with the world and survive and thrive in the process - and so AmericanEyez was born. A platform for artists unlike anything currently in existence, that puts the talent and well-being of the disenfranchised, less fortunate and marginalized, at the forefront. They’ve always had a voice. We’re simply elevating them to be heard. Equal opportunity for the talented amongst us to express themselves; uninhibited; wild and free.

This is characteristic of the art you’ll find here. There are no rules to be adhered to or style to be emulated. “Come as you are” - that’s our motto we want artists to express through their creations. In return for the beauty they put into the world, we believe it’s only fair that 33% of profits made on each canvas go towards empowering the rural artists responsible for creating them. By us, for you - AmericanEyez is a cathartic vessel through which you can liberate yourself and in doing so, inspire others to take heed.
